Organic Sunblock is a Must!

There are so many commercial sunblocks available out there, but hardly any truly organic sunblocks, and the ones you do find are very expensive. What we use for protecting our skin from long sun exposure is a serious issue that people don't consider as much as they should. People also don't seem to consider how the sunblock they use affects the water environment its exposed to. You're at the lake or beach for hours baking in the sun, you slather up with sunblock that is full of oxybenzone, octinoxate, or homosalate, which can act as hormone disrupters, cause allergic reactions, and you're accumulating all this in the body over time. On top of that you're most likely drinking alcohol all day and eating junk food, all huge factors playing into the skin and body aging. God knows how bad these sunblock's really are for our bodies over time; I wouldn't be surprised if these chemicals help cause cancer. Just like many other things sold to us that have harmful ingredients, sunblock is a major one people should advocate for to have organic ingredients. I've always been an ingredients reader at the store, and when I look at sunblock, even the more "organic" options, there are still questionable ingredients in there that don't need to be in there at all. Hence why I started researching what naturals oils have UV protective qualities and how to make my own natural sunblock. It was quite simple really! I decided to incorporate the lovely beef tallow of course, as well as bee propolis, some other nourishing oils and non-nano zinc oxide. So simple! My family and I use it and love it. I don't feel bad about covering my children in something that their bodies are going to absorb over and over.
If you're wondering what the heck is bee propolis, well I'll tell you. Bee propolis is a resinous mixture that is produced by honeybees, made from plant sap, beeswax, and their saliva. It serves as a protective barrier for the hive, sealing cracks and preventing disease. For ages it has been used for various medicinal purposes. This resin contains antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and healing properties that can improve the skin's over all well-being, from hydration to repair. Propolis can also protect against the sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays by creating a natural barrier on the skin and preventing the formation of free radicals that can damage the skin cells. Isn't that amazing?! Blocking the formation of these free radicals is of utmost importance for protecting the skin against UV light since they contribute to sun-induced aging. In addition, the natural content of propolis is not harmful to the oceans! Such a great addition to an all natural sunblock.
Please consider switching to an organic sunblock for yourself and your loved ones. Sunblock should never have a long ingredients list, especially one riddled with chemicals. Our bodies deserve better, and we need to start making smart changes wherever we can. Check out our organic sunblock and start your summer off natural and chemical free. :)
